The Commerzbank-Arena, also known as the Waldstadion, is a football stadium in Frankfurt am Main with a maximum capacity of 52 000. It is the home of Eintracht Frankfurt, the most successful football club in Frankfurt. The stadium opened in 1925 and during the Second World War it was used for political events of the Nazi Party. The stadium was renamed Commerzbank-Arena in July 2005, but most fans of Eintracht Frankfurt still call it the Waldstadion. Large modifications were made for the 2006 FIFA World Cup tournament, with the stadium being nearly completely rebuilt and modernized. It is one of Germany's biggest stadiums. One modification involved suspending a large four-sided structure over the stadium with large screens on each side.
